I received my first Ipsy Glam Bag this month! If you don’t know what Ipsy is, it’s a monthly subscription service where each month you recieve 5-6 full size or deluxe-size samples, and an adorable makeup bag! Each month has a different theme, sometimes the products coincide and other times just the bag does. You take a personalized quiz so the products you receive are tailored towards you and your preferences. The monthly cost for an Ipsy Glam Bag is $10 (UD) and shipping is always free within the US; there is tax in some states, including California. For anyone in other countries, Ipsy only ships to Canada ($4.95 a month for shipping); making the total cost $14.95. If you’re interested in subscribing to Ipsy, use this referral link! All opinions are my own, I am not being paid/sponsored to review my Ipsy Glam Bag. Please do not be offended if you love a product and I don’t. It really all is personal opinion and preference.
Ipsy Glam Bag- July 2015
Theme: “Summer Lovin'”
There was 26 different products you could possibly receive!
My Products(scroll down for a full review on each product):
First in my Ipsy Glam Bag, I received the Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance Gel Soapless Cleanser. This one is the is a sample size and is .84 oz or 24 ml. Most of the writing on the bottle is in another language, I’m assuming French. All I can make out of it is that it is hypoallergenic. Ipsy’s website says it is paraben and soap free. I used it to remove the swatches I took for this blog post and it worked very nicely! it left my skin feeling soft, clean and fresh. I do wish the sample size was a little bigger so that I had enough to wash my face with it more than once and truly try it out. The full-size bottle retails for around $20 (UD) and can be found online and in select retail stores.
My overall rating, 3 stars. I like the product, and it seems to work and be good for sensitive skin. The only downside is the sample size is so small, you can not get a good use out of it to see if it works for you.
In my July 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag, I also received this BEAUTIFUL eyeshadow/highlighter combo! This eyeshadow is in the shade “Bliss”. It is full size, and retails for $15 (UD). It’s perfect for a neutral eye look, or adding a shimmer-y highlight to your cheek bones, nose and cupids bow. You can find this online at Ofra’s website. This is super easy to work with and easy to build on if you want more intense shimmer.
My overall rating, 5 stars. “Bliss”, while not being an extremely unique shade, is a great eyeshadow for highlighting your brow bone, and even your cheekbones. I would totally recommend this!
In this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag I also received the Be A Bombshell Lip Balm in the shade “Ruby”. It’s a great sheer shade of red, so it adds some subtle color to your lips without being overwhelming. It’s full size, and retails for $14 (UD). There is no scent, and if there is it’s not very strong.
Overall rating, 3 stars. It’s just not impressive enough to be worth the amount you would pay for it. I do like that it’s a subtle color, but it’s not as moisturizing as I like my lip balms to be. Of course, that is just personal preference.
In my Ipsy Glam Bag I also got a perfume. This one is Jor’el Parker “Classico”. I was extremely skeptical; I have always been super picky with my perfumes. I like fruity, and summer-y scents, and was afraid this would be more floral, and more ‘mature’. I tried it, and LOVED IT. This bottle is 8.8 ml/.29 oz and this size retails for $21 (UD) the full size is 50 ml/1.7 oz and retails for $55 (UD). This scent is so hard to describe, it has some fruity and floral undertones and is awakening, yet subtle and appropriate for any situation.
Overall opinion, 5 stars. I would definitely repurchase this. No doubt. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile perfume to wear out or to work. tarte deluxe Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer “Park Ave Princess”
The last thing I got (which might be my favorite) is the tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in the shade “Park Ave Princess”. When I saw I was getting this in my bag I was excited, but scared. I am very fair complected, and bronzers are hard to match with my skin tone. When I received my Glam Bag in the mail, the first thing I swatched was this! I am so impressed by it. It’s light enough to add a little color to your face, but also light enough to build on and make it darker, if needed. This one is the sample size: the full size retails for $30. You can find this in Sephora and online!
In the end, my overall rating is 5 stars. This shade is perfect for fair skin, and is totally build-able if you’re not as fair as I am. I love the shade, and the fact that it is matte. I will definitely be re-purchasing when I run out!
This is the part where I average together the reviews of each product, to give my final review of the entire Ipsy Glam Bag!Average review of the products in the Glam Bag is 4 stars! I agree with this! I wish some of the sample sizes were a little bigger, but overall, the Ipsy Glam Bag is great! I love the bag, and I love all of the products. I am excited for the August Glam Bag to come!
Price of products in my bag: $100
